diy pregnancy announcement photos

I mentioned last week that we took some pregnancy announcement pictures with Matt's brother's family while we were in Austin, and it was so much fun! When we got home, I took some of the images and made them into announcement photos for them to share the news on Facebook.

I know everyone is looking for cute ways to announce their pregnancies, so I thought I would share a few ideas that we came up with.

We knew going into the photo session that we wanted to get some pictures with a lot of sky, so we could add white text.  I can't take credit for this first cute catchphrase...that was all the momma-to-be's idea!

Note: This first awesome font is called "Nella Sue" and was made by the fabulous Jenna of Jenna Sue Design Co.  Go check out her amazing shop and blog. You won't regret it!
I love this shot, and think it would make the cutest postcard announcement.
Aden picked up these cute glasses/mustache combos as a nod to their new little boy.   Kiva is also rocking a little "boyish" outfit with suspenders and a clip-on tie.

We noticed the key to getting good pictures of this active little lady was to snap away over and over, and then crop down the good shots.  At first this picture was a much larger shot with other people unfocused, and cropping it down made this adorable image.
Again with the nature of working with a little one, Kiva started moving around when we got this gem.  Her smile says it all, and I made the background a bit blurry, and added the text using Photoshop.
After I sent them to Aden, she put a few of her favorites in a collage and this was the main announcement picture.  I absolutely love it and we were so happy to be a part of this special moment in their lives.
I hope some of these tips and ideas were helpful to you!!
