Sunny Yellow Lamp DIY

My apologies for being absent! We have been going going going on the house getting prepared for a few parties and family visiting next month! I will (hopefully) be posting all of our updates this week!

This weekend, Matthew and I made our way over to the Restore, and found some amazing things! One of them was this gold lamp.  Needless to say, the gold is hideous, but the shape is something wonderful and it was only $2! The Restore is a great place! They are always getting new things for very little and the money goes to the Habitat for Humanity.

I made quick trips to Home Depot for spray paint in "Summer Squash" and a cute lamp shade from Target. Unfortunately, this lamp didn't come with a shade, but if it had, I could have achieved the same look with a plain white shade and some black ribbon.  However, I didn't have any extra lamp shades around, so this did the trick for $14.

A few sprays and a couple hours later I have a beautiful new lamp.   I have seen similar lamp bases for upwards of $25, and this was only $5 to refurbish! It is a great addition to my office, and I have some big plans for this space coming in the next few weeks.

  1. Love the sunny yellow. What kind of spray paint did you use?
